Solar Energy in Namibia

Namibia is increasingly becoming a key hub for renewable energy – particularly solar energy. We are following this positive development with great interest and are delighted that alarm.direct is also establishing a local presence through its commitment.

We are particularly proud to be sponsoring a well-known and popular organisation in Windhoek. For us, our involvement in Namibia means more than just a business presence: we want to be part of local development, build relationships and make a positive contribution on the ground.

In three weeks’ time, the ‘Solar & Storage Leadership Forum Namibia 2026’ will bring together experts and decision-makers to discuss investment, growth, energy storage and the future of Namibia’s renewable energy sector. There is one topic that, in our view, should have been part of this discussion from the outset:

How do we protect the infrastructure we are investing in?

Large solar farms and battery storage facilities are valuable assets. They can also occupy vast areas, often in remote locations.

This makes perimeter security, video surveillance, access control and 24/7 monitoring an increasingly important part of the overall project strategy.

At alarm.direct, we have more than 10 years’ experience in securing photovoltaic projects across Europe – from planning and installation right through to monitoring and maintenance.

We are following the discussions in Windhoek with great interest and are keen to see how Namibia’s solar and storage landscape will develop.
