alarm.direct at the "Smart City Expo World Congress 2024" (SCEWC) in Barcelona - A first impression: The global stage for urban innovation

The energy and spirit of optimism that characterises the Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) can be felt as soon as you enter the impressive exhibition grounds. Over 25,000 visitors from more than 140 countries, 1,000 exhibitors and a wealth of conferences and workshops emphasise the importance of this event as a central platform for urban innovation. The impressive exhibition area brings together established technology groups and agile start-ups, who will jointly present their solutions for the cities of the future.

Highlights of the exhibition: Experience innovation up close

A central aspect of the Expo is the presentation of pioneering technologies that will have a lasting impact on urban life. The ‘Intelligent Mobility’ area is particularly impressive, where autonomous buses, networked transport systems and zero-emission electric vehicles provide an insight into the mobility of tomorrow.

Another focus of the trade fair is on smart grids and IoT technologies that enable cities to manage their resources such as energy and water more intelligently and efficiently. Many of the projects on show are based on real-time data analysis to reduce energy consumption, optimise traffic flow and improve waste disposal. These technologies impressively demonstrate how cities can become not only more efficient but also more liveable through the use of innovative solutions.

Networking at the highest level

In addition to the technical presentations, the SCEWC also offers an outstanding platform for networking and interdisciplinary dialogue. The diversity of participants - from urban planners to IT experts and sustainability managers - contributes to an inspiring discourse that brings in different perspectives on the development of smart cities. We enthusiastically discussed the opportunities that new technologies offer for the design of modern urban spaces.

Conclusion

Our participation in the Smart City Expo World Congress 2024 in Barcelona was an inspiring experience. We were able to take away many new ideas to make our innovative alarm and security technology even more efficient and future-proof. We were also able to establish further networks and collaborations with manufacturers and developers. What was particularly impressive was the strong focus on sustainability and the shared conviction that technology not only serves to increase efficiency, but also leads to an improvement in the quality of life and ensures greater security in urban areas.

Special thanks go to the Schwerin Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Gesellschaft für Wirtschaft- und Technologieförderung Rostock mbH, which made our participation in the Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona a special experience
